I visited the AP manufacture last year, and when we discussed this escapement technology, which is currently available in very limited quantities and at a very high price, I was told that it could eventually make its way into the AP Royal Oak Offshore 3126 calibre movement.

Since Magnus Racing will hit the ground running, John Potter has a program he believes will be different from other teams as it will combine competition with fun.

John Potter who will be seen taking the wheel of the Porsche 997 GT3, took his first professional victory in the Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge last year. The Utah resident has had a highest finish of fourth in the Rolex Sports Car Series and will be entering his second season of the Rolex competition in 2010. Craig Stanton has been a champion in both the Rolex Sports Car Series and the KONI Challenge. The California resident is well known for being a Porsche specialist and has been partnering with John Potter in the Rolex Series in a GT class Porsche since 2008. John Potter and Craig Stanton finished fifth at the Watkins Glen and the Miller Motorsports Park this year as a team.

Magnus Racing has been committed towards achieving results on the track and is also looking forward to have fun off the tracks. Since John Potter is putting together the staff and equipment he shall also be putting in the fun element for the team. Though a few of John Potter’s efforts have met with criticism, his unique campaigns have been popular among the fans with t-shirts including the “Utah’s McDreamy” shirts and hero cards that became a major hit at the 2008 Miller Motorsports Park event. The fans will definitely be looking forward to watching the unique element John Potter brings forth to Magnus Racing.

Though it will Magnus Racing’s debut at the Rolex sports Car Series, it was formed in 2006 by John Potter in order to develop race cars as well as compete in a variety of racing series. John Potter has had a good partnership run with Craig Stanton, therefore his decision to make him part of his team did not come as a surprise. The varied race car series that the team will compete in range from club level to professional endurance racing. Participating in the Rolex sports Car Series will be the highest achievement so far for Magnus Racing. The driver line-up of the team will be disclosed just before the Roar Before the Rolex 24 which is scheduled for January 8 to January 10.
